Liliana Dobbs creates abstract expressionist paintings in oils. Having grown up in Madeira, a sub-tropical Portuguese island off the coast of Africa, she has always had a deep connection to the natural world. The prime focus of her art practice is on representing the emotional association to a time and place and incorporating this energy into her paintings. Unblocking her recollection of such connections is at the core of her process.

Dobbs strongly believes in the power of art as an antidote to a busy mind and exploring her creativity is crucial in helping her find balance. She consciously strives to fabricate an experience which incites the viewer to slow down and embrace her work as a form of escapism.
